Everest dinner cocktail
Messrs. Manuel Pizarro and André Rossin-Arthiat are back in Montreal since June 2, and they are in great shape. During an Everest Dinner Cocktail to be held on October 8, come and listen to the account of these two brave men who saved the lives of 16 people during their ascent. After a year of preparation, these two climbers left Montreal on March 1, 2009, determined to reach the summit of Mount Everest for the benefit of the Quebec Lung Association. Unfortunately, Mr. Rossin-Arthiat had to abandon his ascent at an altitude of 7,000 meters, after developing pulmonary edema in both lungs (a serious medical problem). After taking his partner back down to Katmandu, Mr. Pizarro resumed his climb and reached the peak of Mount Everest on May 21. In so doing, he became the first Quebecer to achieve this exploit twice. The evening promises to be an emotional one! In addition to viewing the documentary filmed during their ascent, you will have an opportunity to bid on some of the items that made it to the top of Everest with Mr. Pizarro. Furthermore, Vincenzo Thoma will sing a few pieces from his repertoire, and a dinner cocktail will be served.
