Listen to your Heart
on Valentine’s Day
| “After being diagnosed, I had to accept the fact that my lifestyle would be diminished in many ways. The hardest part is overcoming the feeling of isolation. The support I received from my family and the Quebec Lung Association contributed significantly to improving my quality of life. With the help of the QLA, I was able to attend free conferences on the subject, as well as take part in sarcoidosis discussions through a support group.” |
This year, for Valentine’s Day, add health to your gift of love!
“My name is Johanne Vallée and I have a rare illness that has forced me to radically alter my lifestyle. I sometimes have trouble breathing properly, I am often tired, I quickly run out of breath and I experience chest pains. I’m only 59 and I’ve been suffering from sarcoidosis for over 30 years.
Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that affects numerous parts and organs of the body. It frequently attacks the lungs, throat and bronchial airways because these are more vulnerable to attacks from the outside. In order to preserve my lungs, I have to limit my activities, I am very sensitive to tobacco smoke, the smell of fuel, smog, etc. Prevention has become a matter of life and death.
Because sarcoidosis is so poorly understood, there is a colossal amount of work to be done in terms of research and raising public awareness.
Fortunately, my family and I know that we can rely on a toll-free helpline (1-888-POUMON9) for support and advice from a respiratory therapist. Without your donations, this service could not be maintained.
For these reasons, many Quebecers like you and me have decided to give the Quebec Lung Association a heartfelt helping hand. With a mere donation, you can help thousands of afflicted Quebecers.
With all my heart, I thank you for your generosity!
P.S.: We all know at least one person suffering from some form of respiratory illness. Generally, we lack the reliable resources we need to lend them assistance. Let the spirit of Valentine’s Day move you to give the best gift of all: health!”
